Atraco Perfecto will be screening two of their short films at Portobello Film Festival this year, Hotel Amenities and A Reflection of You. Julia Guillén Creagh and Ramón Rodríguez, entrepreneurs of this Spanish Production Company, surely will be thrilled with the results, as their short films have been awarded internationally in the past.

Hotel Amenities is the story of a man (Alex García) and a woman (Susan Stanley) that meet in a hotel room in order to have sex. It’s the first time they see each other and they are eager to do so. But things turn out to be more difficult than they expected.

Susan Stanley, playing the lead role, won the Best Actress Award at the Malaga Film Festival 2013 and for which she was been nominated for a Best Actress Award for the same project at the Islantilla Cineforum (Spain) 2013. The film was preselected on the prestigious Spanish Goya Awards.

“I am so happy for Julia that the film got pre selected for the Goya Awards. What an honour! I was very excited when I heard about the nomination, it felt surreal. Thrilled that Hotel Amenities will screen at the Portobello Film Festival. Delighted for Atraco Perfecto and Julia that the film has had such a brilliant response. They are artists who sacrifice a lot for their work so it’s wonderful that their film has a platform here in London. I hope lots of people get to see it”, said Susan to GEFilms.

We hope you also enjoy A reflection of you, staring Daniel Grao and Nani Jiménez. During a party, a couple gets into a room and, standing in front of a mirror, they both play to be someone different. A very surprising script and camera work on this film where we are sure you will put things in perspective.

Portobello Film Festival was created in 1996 as a reaction to the moribund state of the British film industry, to provide a forum for new film-makers and give exposure to movies on different formats.

Starting tomorrow at 7pm, The Portobello Film Festival will offer you a great selection of films in different venues. The festival annually premiers over 700 new films, including features, shorts, documentaries, music films and animation. Additionally, workshops and talks with top film directors are also featured.

Admission to the three-week-long festival is free of charge.

You can check the full program here.

Best of luck to all participants!
