Minions invading London on the 11th of June at Leicester Sq

The Minions premiere in the UK is going to take place in Leicester Square on the 11th of June. If you’ve missed your chance there, it will also premiere in France on the 18th. The movie is set to release on the 26th of June in the UK and the 10th of July in the US, so you will have to wait a while before you see it.

However, if you live in Australia, Malaysia, or Singapore, it will come out on the 18th of June, so you’ll be able to see it first. Two of the main voice actors for the movie are going to be there, Sandra Bullock (she voices Scarlet Overkill, the main villain in the movie) and Pierre Coffin (the source of that classic Minion gibberish).

The movie is a prequel to Despicable Me (1 and 2), and is focused on their hunt for the most evil leader. After accidentally killing all their superiors (including Napoleon), they are forced to go into hiding until the 1960s, when three minions, Bob, Kevin, and Stuart, decide to step out of their hiding place and set out to find a new villain. After a long time on a raft, they end up in New York, where they find the blue overalls that all the Minions wear. Then they go to Villain-Con, where they meet Scarlett Overkill, a very evil woman, perfect for the Minions. After that, they go to live with Scarlett, whose evil plan is to steal Queen Elizabeth II’s crown.

The movie was announced in 2012 (3 years ago) and was scheduled to release last year in December, but was delayed and pushed back to 2015 because Universal wanted to maximize the profits from Despicable Me 2 before they released another movie. The soundtrack will be released the same day as the movie.

The first trailer for it was attached with Big Hero 6 and also exclusively on one episode of The Voice in November last year. The second trailer was attached with The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. The third trailer (the last one) was put on YouTube and later attached with Pitch Perfect 2.

Great Expectations Films will be at the premiere to see the atmosphere and speak with fans, so if you see us there, make sure to wave!
