The 58th BFI London Film Festival announced that this year’s Opening Night film will be The Imitation Game. Merging potent drama with nail-biting suspense. The life of Alan Turing, the codebreaker who helped turn the tide of WWII yet was demonised following it, is explored in this stunning drama.

Opening Night around the UK

Audiences around the UK will have the exclusive chance to see the Opening Night red carpet footage and interviews with the film’s creators beamed live by satellite into their local cinema and followed by a screening of The Imitation Game. The film will receive its European premiere on Wednesday 8 October at the Odeon Leicester Square. Stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Keira Knightley, and director Morten Tyldum are expected to attend the London event.
